Bill Pierson
(Desracers)

Bill has 2 quads that are setup for desert racing. His first quad that he setup and desert raced was his 1995 Yamaha Banshee. Once Yamaha came out with the Raptor, Bill purchased one and set it up to replace his Banshee. Upon receiving his Raptor in Nov of 2000, he immediately realized that he needed to make several suspension changes. After purchasing and trying a couple different systems, Bill decided to purchase (+1+3) Roll Design Lobo II system.

This package can be viewed at Roll Designs Web Site.

Bill's Notes On The Kit: Once this kit was ordered it took 4 months before it was received. So please keep this in mind if you plan to order one. Our group decided to do the install of this kit at a members house in Winchester Bay Oregon during a ride weekend. The install took approximately 4 hours to complete and we did not note any problems with the Hardware. Once installed, I was off to the dunes the next morning. On the 1st ride, I immediately noticed that the bike seemed to be a lot more comfortable to ride. It seemed very smooth and did not even come close to bottoming out on the approaches or exiting off the steep dunes at high speeds. The bike seem to level out quicker at the top/lip of each dune and was very soft upon landing. Once we hit our "HIGH SPEED" Bullrun (Whoop Road) area this long travel suspension came alive. I was able to gain one full gear in speed over other previous front suspensions. To put it simple, this suspension will make you a better rider. I also noted, no more skating on high speed turns in the corners and with sudden sharp turns. The only adjustment that I had to make was to stiffen the spring in which is done by lowering the clip rings about 4 clips. This was a very simple adjustment to make. Conclusion: I am 100% happy and greatly impressed with the Lobo A-ARM system. I plan to put this system to the ultimate test next year in the BITD series. I will provide more updates in the future.
