Desracers (Pit 4 to 5)
Fun fast ride through the mountains, had a checkpoint to go through then down the side of the mountain on a narrow road. Had to take it easy so I wouldn't go off the side of the mountain. Think I had rear right flat.

Treeshot: (Pit 5 to 6)
Mix of fast stuff and tight, rocky sections here. The only other thing of interest was the 7' high underpass I had to go through. Gives you an eerie feeling shooting through something that tight at speed. Loud as hell too, lol.

Desracers: (Pit 6 to 7)
Some nasty stuff to deal with. Also a few miles of running flat then I overshot a corner and went over 2 foot tall berm and down 4 foot on the other side. It was a close call. Was hoping to beat the first truck before to Tonopah. That was my goal to get there before they caught us. They ended up catching us at pit 8.

Treeshot: (Pit 7 to 8)
Des was giving me crap cause he thought the trucks and buggies would catch us on this section because we heard on the scanner they were damn close. This gave me the motivation to pick up the pace and let him be the first to get passed, haha. I ripped through to pit 8 and wasn't there for more than 2 min (we were changing another flat) when the TSCO buggy went screaming through the pit. Have fun Des the next one can't be far behind. /grin

Desracers: (Pit 8 to 9)
This section was one of the longest one between pit stops. While in the pit I turned the gas off and forgot to turn it back on. When the bike ran out of gas I was right in the middle of heavy silt that was about 7 inch thick and talk about dust!! So much for my goggles being nice and clean. At the same time I had a few trucks pass me..... So I turned the gas back on and somewhat got my lens clean so I was able to see. There was alot of nasty stuff like silt and moon rocks all over the place. Then later on I got on a long flat traker dirt road and started passing bikes. I think I must have passed 5-6 bikes. I could go faster through the corners then they could. until the last mile to Pit 10 it was a landmine out there, couldn't go faster then 3rd gear due to the big friggin moon rocks!! It was brutal!

Treeshot: (Pit 9 to 10)
Nothing exciting here, just motoring toward the finish line.

Desracers: (Pit 10 to 11)
That was the shortest course between pits. Nothing happen there.... Normal racing riding.

Treeshot: (Pit 11 to 13)
Or it was supposed to be pit 13 anyhow. Ended up being pit 12 due to a technical difficulty. I had just came out of a fast sweeper corner through the mountains and shifted into fifth. When I tried to adjust my foot on the peg it wouldn't move. Upon further inspection I noticed the swingarm pivot bolt was sticking out the side of the bike 4 inches or so. Not a good thing, especially at 65 or 70mph with a couple hundred foot drop 10 feet to the right. After kicking the bolt back into place I figured I could limp into pit 12 for repairs and keep us in the race so I dug my cell phone out and called AAA, lol. I ended up playing leap frog with the Sky Jacker trophy truck who was busted and limping to the pit same as me. I felt comfortable going about 40mph or so and I would pass him but had to stop shortly after to beat the swingarm bolt back into place which gave him the opportunity to pass back. We were both waiving, yelling, and laughing as we kept go by each other. We I rolled into the pit we scavenged the bolt/nut off my bike and some guys from another team help us swap them out.

Desracers: (Pit 12 to 14)
This got interesting. The plan was that Treeshot would ride 11 to 13 then I ride 13 to the finish. Pit 12 was a remote pit so the chase truck wouldn't be able to beat the bike there or to Pit 13. Well about 15 miles out of pit 11 we got a call from Treeshot on his cell phone. He said we had to go to pit 12 because the swingarm bolt had lost the nut and kept working out of the bike. Thank GOD for the cell phone!! So we had to back track a little then head for pit 12. 20 miles on paved road then 33 miles on good dirt road!! So much for my clean truck and Treeshot's bike. They both looked like they had raced too. We ended up getting there like 5 min before Treeshot. I knew I had an extra nut for the swing arm bolt but we couldn't use it since the threads were stripped. So We hijacked the swing arm bolt and nut off Treeshot's bike. A couple guys from another team helped us out and we got back to racing. This time with me riding pit 12 to 14 and Treeshot riding the last leg to the finish. BTW it was getting dark out there by now which made me more comfortable about being close to the trucks since you could see them coming due to the lights. Most of this part of the course was fast and I ran over a few Jack rabbits as they were all over the course running around. From Pit 13 to 14 was all flat tracker 5th gear wide open not 1 truck or buggy ever pass me at all. I passed a few bikes and they got out of the way since they thought I was the truck coming up really fast due the light set up I had. It was a blast!!. Got to Pit 14 and my chase truck hadn't shown up yet. Called on the cell phone no luck. They show up about 10 min later...
