Our group plans and schedules many
different events and group rides during the calendar year. All of our members
RIDE at just about any time that they can get away from work and/or family
obligations. While its getting increasingly difficult for all of us to get
together at the same time, we try to plan at least 2 full week trips for
our entire group each year.
In May of this year, 25 of us got
together (sorry not all could make it) for a full week camped on the Oregon
Dunes at Spinreel campground located on the north side of the dunes near
Lakeside Oregon. The 1st thing we noticed upon arriving at Spinreel Saturday
was that our Bullrun & Whoop Road that we all like to run had just recently
been bladed. It was all nice and smooth like a 5 mile long flat track. Secondly,
the sand and dunes were all untouched and perfectly smooth from a recent
windy day. The weather was awesome, blue sky, very little wind, and nice
& warm in camp. It only rained just a couple short times during the
whole week that we were there. We were able to ride with only a tee shirt
and/or light jacket all week.
On Tuesday, we received a call that the police had recovered Des's stolen
raptor from April 28th. Des quickly loaded his truck and headed back to
Lynnwood Wa. He was back in camp with rappy by 5:00pm the next day. By the
middle of the week everyone had arrived and Wizard1 had picked up the helmet
cam that we had in the shop to be fixed. As of today, we now have several
helmet video's shots from our Wizard rides. We also have several video shots
from Toyman & Bake's video cameras. While we don't have many digital
pictures to share, we do have a super sweet video that we put together from
several of the shots that we took. We plan to extract several more clips
from the helmet cam and video camera(s) to post at a later time.
To sum up the trip: Perfect Weather, Desracer's Raptor Back, New Wizard Hats (Thanks to the Bake Family), Helmet Cam Fixed and Operational for Future Events, Wizard BLENDER Drinks (WOW), Doc's OS21 RC10-GT (wheelie machine), 7 Diff Rider Crashes W/No Personal Injuries, Lots of Great Group Rides, A Ton of Broken Bike Parts, BIG Pallet Fires (Remember, 3 is too many), Great People, Fun Times.
And remember what the cable guy
says: GET-R-DONE................................
